Teaching “Catholic Religion” at grammar schools
The course of study for those training to become teachers in the subject of “Catholic religion” at grammar schools is focused on the practical demands of teaching religion in such a context. Consequently, students acquire the relevant knowledge of the subject and are taught subject-specific didactic foundations. Students gain their first practical experience teaching under academic guidance.
The competencies students acquire, i.e. a knowledge of, qualification in and attitudes regarding the various sub-disciplines of Catholic theology, will enable them to engage in academic work and carry out their work as teachers in a socially responsible way.
